Description:
Geneva College offers its core humanities courses each semester in an integrated block taught by Geneva faculty. The undergraduate curriculum focuses on history, art history, literature, and philosophy. Participants also complete an Italian language and culture component, a course in Italian Cinema, and a one-credit book discussion. Field trips to Pompeii, Florence, and Venice, as well as to the vast array of well-known cultural sites in and around Rome round out the program. Community service is strongly encouraged. The primary goals of the program are:
  • To provide students with a study abroad experience that intentionally promotes and fosters the integration of faith and learning.
  • To provide students with an opportunity to complete nine of a required twelve hours of core Humanities courses that will take full advantage of the Italian context.

Geneva College is a member of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) and is the only CCCU institution with a semester program in Rome.
