Description:

Pratt in Tuscany is a six-week, fully accredited summer program held in Lucca, Italy, offered by Pratt Institute of Brooklyn, New York. Courses are offered in Fine Arts: Painting and Drawing in Lucca, and Photography in Florence. A Seminar in Art Criticism is held in Lucca and includes several field trips to various sites in Tuscany. Every student is required to keep a sketchbook during the program. Students enroll for a total of 6-8 credits. The program is open to upperclasses and graduate students. Our classes are a combination of independent work, lecture, demonstration, and critique. During the program, there is a critique series with three invited artists/critics to review work outside of the faculty. Students who benefit most from this program are those who can work independently and participate fully in critique. |
