Description:
The University of Virginia / CET History of Art and Italian Studies in Siena program offers intensive language courses for all levels of Italian, as well as classes in Art History, Studio Art, Italian Literature and Italian Culture, making it the ideal choice for serious art history and humanities students with any kind of Italian language background. Students seeking full-immersion will find intensive language studies and ample opportunity to put their language skills to use in the local community, while students who are new to the field will receive an accelerated and comprehensive introduction to Italian language and culture.

As part of the core course, Italian Cultural History, students travel to Sicily as part of a faculty-led traveling seminar.

Students choose to live with Italian roommates in centrally located apartments or with local families.
